this shot would be so much better without the obstruction of the flower that i ended up focusing on. that definitely bugs me. other than that, i like it

No, I like the fact that the focus isn't on the first flower! it's very original and gives an interesting concept ^^

This is very good... I really like the vectoring. Oh, I do not find the forefront flower to be distracting, I like hot it is out of focus.

Vectoring refers to the depth in an image, this can be achieved by rows of things. For example your flowers, you know the size of one of them, so the rest are smaller in the image, so that makes them appear to be in the distance, thus, vectoring.
